Baby Music?

Perhaps one of the worst kinds of music is (most) children's music. Having listened to a looping DVD of The Wiggles on a drive many years ago to Colorado (yes, Colorado, which is quite a drive from Missouri) I appreciate music for children that sounds great for adult ears as well. Take a listen to the songs on Rockabye Baby!, a site devoted to albums of rock music transformed into lullabies. What a perfect gift for the mom or mom-to-be in your life who listens to more AC/DC, The Beatles, and Queen than Barney.

  1. This is absolutely sooo true! I love these Cds and kindie rock, which I posted about, more music for kids that's adult friendly! http://smhasty.blogspot.com/2011/01/30-day-song-challenge-day-three.html

  2. For the older kids, there's For the Kids. It's more the opposite of Rockabye Baby - kids songs, but performed by grown-up (read = good) artists. There's a For the Kids, Too!, too.

  3. I might add that both of these (and Rockabye Baby, too) are available for checkout and preview at the library. /shameless plug.
